AI-Recommended badge.

The AI-Recommended badge certifies that AI platforms recommend your brand without being asked about it. It is measured from your own weekly collections, and it stops resolving the moment you stop qualifying.

What it certifies

The claim is narrow on purpose. The badge says that on discovery prompts, the questions that never name your brand, several AI platforms independently name you anyway.

Branded prompts are excluded from the measurement entirely. Getting named in an answer to a question that already contains your name proves nothing about whether AI recommends you, and a badge built on that would be decoration rather than evidence.

How a brand earns it

A workspace qualifies when, on the latest collection, at least 4 AI platforms each name the brand in 25 percent or more of their discovery-prompt answers.

Two properties of that rule are worth understanding:

  • The platform floor is a flat count, not a share. 4 platforms is the bar whether your plan collects the base set or the wider one, so a larger plan does not make the badge easier to hold.
  • Agreement across platforms is the point. Platforms read different sources and disagree often. Requiring several of them to reach the same conclusion independently is what makes the badge mean something more than one model’s opinion.

There is nothing to apply for. Qualification is computed from your collections, and the badge becomes available as soon as your workspace clears the bar.

The verification page

Every badge links to a public verification page at citehawk.com/recommended/<workspace-id>. The page names which platforms recommend you and which do not, alongside the count of discovery prompts behind the measurement.

Showing the platforms that do not recommend you is deliberate. The gaps are what make the badge checkable rather than promotional.

The verification page carries a noindex directive: it is a verification surface for people who click your badge, not a page competing for search traffic.

Embedding the badge

When your workspace qualifies, the verification page shows the exact snippet to paste into your own site. It takes this shape, with your workspace id and brand name filled in:

Embed snippet

<a href="https://www.citehawk.com/recommended/WORKSPACE_ID"
title="BRAND is recommended by AI · verified by CiteHawk"
  ><img src="https://www.citehawk.com/api/recommended-badge/WORKSPACE_ID"
alt="BRAND: recommended unprompted by N of M AI models"
        width="340" height="120" loading="lazy" style="border:0"></a>

Copy the snippet from your verification page rather than from this example: the alt text carries the live platform counts, and hand-editing it is how a badge ends up claiming something the measurement does not support.

The badge image is served as a PNG and is safe to hotlink. It is cached and re-rendered on a schedule, so the plate on your site follows your measurement without you republishing anything.

A dark variant is available by adding ?theme=dark to the image URL.

Staying earned

The badge is live, not awarded. It is re-measured on every weekly collection, and if your workspace drops below the bar the verification page stops resolving and the image falls back to a neutral plate that makes no recommendation claim.

That is the trade the badge makes. A certificate that could not be lost would not be worth displaying, and anyone who clicks through gets the current measurement rather than a historical one.

The other CiteHawk badges

CiteHawk runs three separate badge programmes. They are easy to confuse and they certify different things:

  • The AI-Recommended badge, this page. Earned from your own workspace collections on discovery prompts. Live, and re-measured weekly.
  • The AI Index badge. Earned by placing in the public AI Index and claiming your brand. Comes in two forms: a dated award pinned to one monthly edition, and a living certificate that tracks your current placement.
  • The free-check badge. Claimed from a free AI visibility check result, for brands that placed in the top three of that check.

Only the AI-Recommended badge is derived from a tracked workspace’s own weekly collections.
